You're to SS1 what Bioshock is to SS2 and what Infinite is to Bioshock: Casual dudebro trash. I'm not upset that Irrational decided to make a modern version of Bioshock, I just find it rather lazy they didn't try improving the sequel and instead have worse level design and generally casualize it. So many of the characters and even their designs and attack patterns are identical (ie. I understand it's a spiritual successor but the two play perfectly together. Although I like SS2 more, I can't help but wonder why Bioshock took so much from SS2. I think why I don't feel impressed is because I played Bioshock first and found that a rather enjoying experience. Her stutters and boring monologues about taking over the ship drone over the game, and she doesn't come off as a threat, more so a bitch. Some of the enemies are interesting, but Shodan is a very boring antagonist. When I face enemies in this game I don't consider the shock of how horrifying they appear, but rather my wishes are they don't kill me in time. I don't feel immersed when my character runs like a lunatic smacking at enemies and jumping at turrets with a wrench. Aside from the interesting level design and atmosphere, the game feels very clichéd and anti-climatic at some points. It has its charm and definitely piques my interests in the possibility of cyberpunk visuals.
